My Journey
My journey into holistic medicine began with something as simple as a cup of tea. I have always had a love for tea. Discovering how herbs could soothe and heal sparked a passion that has only grown over the years. I had chronic infections growing up and was on antibiotics often. When I was able to eliminate a recurring sinus infection with Apple Cider Vinegar I started taking natural healing into my own routine. I was on another round of antibiotics and a UTI was on its way to a Kidney Infection. I took herbs in adjunct and recovered much more rapidly. when I learned about Cranberry juice as a preventative I didn't get any bad UTI infections again. Then I learned about Hibiscus tea used in Africa as a herbal remedy.
I was an athlete and a competative snowboarder growing up and,
that often included aches and pains. I began to used my yoga
asana practice and the Chinese salve Tiger Balm for muscle aches.
Both significantly improved my recovery experience and I noticed Yoga improving my mental health as well. As a teenager with a
large capacity to feel and deep pain, I had to find a way to cultivate resilience. From here I continued to learn natural ways to heal all levels of my being. Creating wellbeing in my mind and body became
a focal point for me. I felt strongly that Nature was intelligent and that I wanted to preserve the natural environment. From the coral reefs to the glaciers I felt the daunting loss of ecosystems and species. I had direct experience in oceans and mountain tops, I observed less and less life and it broke my heart.
In 2012 I began to study biology and environmental sciences at Montana State University. I also began my journey as a yoga teacher in 2013. I worked at the Dharma center holding space for a young adults meditation group that met weekly. I lost my Grandfather to cancer, a boyfriend to another woman, and felt heartbroken for Nature still. Then, I had the insight that the Earth would not be able to heal until Humanity healed the connection to Nature. I studied permaculture at community ventures in Montana and Hawaii for a year. In 2018 I moved to New Mexico to study
the East Asian Healing Arts at Southwest Acupuncture College.
Living in this sacred land has deepened my appreciation for
the traditions and healing ceremonies that are passed down
through generations. It has influenced the way I approach
health, incorporating both modern and ancient wisdom
into my practice.
My philosophy to wellness includes ecology, linking
the local environment and natural cycles of change to
the evolving patterns of health and disease. I love to weave
traditions of East and West together with acupuncture, and nutrition. At the core of it remains my devotion to the path of
Yoga and selfless service to Nature.
